Australian Iranian Community Council
Michael Kavian is an experienced governance leader with 19 years of senior experience across government, education, and the not‑for‑profit sector.

He brings a strong academic foundation to his role as President of the Australian Iranian Community Council, holding tertiary qualifications in Political Relations, Government (Public Administration), and Educational Leadership. Michael applies a disciplined, evidence‑based approach to organisational leadership, with professional expertise spanning governance systems, contractual compliance, performance reporting, stakeholder engagement, ministerial briefing preparation, and executive advisory functions.

Michael’s leadership is grounded in transparency, ethical practice, and a commitment to building credible, community‑centred institutions that strengthen the voice and wellbeing of Iranian‑Australians.

Michael previously served as President of the Iranian Society of Queensland in 2023-24, where he and his team led major reforms in governance, digital infrastructure, and community engagement.
