Dr Hesam Darouei
General Practitioner | Community Health & Multicultural Wellbeing Advisor
Dr Hesam Darouei is an experienced General Practitioner with more than thirty years of clinical practice across Iran, the UAE, and Australia. A Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP) and an Accredited Skin Cancer Doctor, he brings extensive expertise in primary care, community health, and culturally responsive medical practice.
Dr Darouei has deep knowledge of the health and wellbeing needs of Iranian‑Australians, including asylum seekers, humanitarian entrants, seniors, women at risk, youth, and families navigating complex health and settlement systems. His work reflects a strong commitment to social justice, multicultural inclusion, and equitable access to health services.
In 2023, he served as President and Treasurer of the Iranian Society of Queensland, where he led significant organisational reforms, including major infrastructure and ICT modernisation initiatives that strengthened governance and operational capability.
With his clinical expertise, leadership experience, and longstanding dedication to community wellbeing, Dr Hesam Darouei is a highly valuable addition to the AICC Advisory Group, particularly in the areas of Community Health, Multicultural Wellbeing, and Organisational Capability.
